Armot. -  Good staff- good horses.
There has been a lot of action these days. Five horse trainers have been working with Haflidi schooling over sixty horses. Three of them are women, Tanja Gundlach from Germany, Jamilla Berg from Sweden, and Fia Wedin, also from Sweden. To support them are the Icelanders Steingrímur Sigurðsson and Jón Sveinsson, who both are holders of Icelandic National Championships‘titles.

“There have never before been so many promising horses from Armot as now,” says Haflidi. “The staff is also premium.  We aim at having at least fifteen to twenty horses at the Breeding shows in Reykjavik, Hafnarfjordur and Hella. Most of them are offsprings of Saer from Bakkakot, but he was the main studd at Armot for 3 to 4 years. We are also planning to show our own Breeding-group from Armot at the Landsmot 2008.“

26.05.04 Some good people from Icelandair visit Armot
This is from their internal webside: "The annual “uncertainty trip” of the flight department of Icelandair was last Wednesday May 19th. Good attendance was, around 35 staff members and one visitor from Britain. Uncertainty is part of our daily work, so we always get good group together for this trip.
We first met at the bar at Hotel Loftleidir, where we in accordance with these high security times, got our “Ops. Spring Id. Card” and "survival kit”. The cards had picture showing our inner man and our position for the trip. The survival kit included bandage, earpinn, children’s aspirin, Alka-Seltzer and ticket for the Reykjavik city bus. We left the hotel around 5 pm and headed for the south countryside. During the drive we discovered many different talents among the staff; good storytellers of the Icelandair technical dept. that gave us good laughs, and the “Loftleidir princes” sang some songs. Some got worried when we had passed Selfoss, Hellu and passed Hvolsvollur and asked what can be after Hvolsvollur? But soon after Hvolsvollur we turned left and entered West-Landeyjar. Finally our destination, the horse breeding farm at Armot was there. This is certainly one of the finest horsefarms in Iceland and the host there, the world champion horse trainer and rider Haflidi Halldorsson made this an unforgettable trip with his unique hospitality. We started with cocktails in the Sælukráin, a unique restaurant he has built there, were we sat on chairs made of drift wood he had gather from the west Iceland coast and the floor there under looked like the flowing lava of mountain Hekla. Connected to the restaurant is this large horse stables where many of the stallions and mares we saw are worth fortune. Then we went over to the guesthouse, were he served great steak dinner. The whether was beautiful and the view from the dinning room was fantastic, with mountain Hekla and other surrounding mountains like a huge painting. After the dinner we got private horseshow on his new competitions field and then ended the stay in his restaurant where two musicians played live music while we drank, danced and sang into the night. We arrived to Reykjavik around 3 am after enjoyable Icelandic “country style” trip."
